This module explores the meaning behind the phrase "Six Sigma." It illustrates how Six Sigma can be put to practical use inside an organization to affect change, and describes the fundamental concept of variation. In addition, the course explores the cost of poor quality to an organization. The concepts are explained in a simple-to-understand format appropriate for all levels of the organization.

This module describes the basic concepts that are the foundation of Six Sigma. Customers are the main focus of this initiative and listening to their voice is critical. All processes have some kind of variation and defining the baseline, the entitlement and a benchmark are key steps towards the improvement that every Six Sigma project will look for. These processes will have defective parts of services and having a good understanding between defects and defectives can be the difference for measuring our improvements the right way.

This module describes the history and the basic concepts behind the Lean philosophy. Concepts covered include Value, Waste, Value Stream, 5S, Visual Management, Pull, Continuous Flow and Mistake Proofing. The module ends with a comparison of Lean and Six Sigma and how the two methodologies complement each other and create a strong roadmap for driving your organization forward.

This module describes the key roles individuals play during the phases of the Lean Six Sigma process. Every individual responsible for deploying Lean Six Sigma within an organization should view this module.

This module describes the key role that the Champion plays in identifying the appropriate projects for their Lean Six Sigma practitioners to work on. The module defines the different types of methodologies and the types of projects each methodology is best suited for. Methodologies covered include Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Just Do It and Design for Lean Six Sigma.

This course explains the metrics necessary to create well-defined projects, including primary and consequential metrics, baselines, entitlements and targets. The course also describes the process for writing an appropriate objective statement and how to quantify the financial impact of a project.

This module introduces a powerful process for recognizing and prioritizing projects using a Cause & Effect Matrix. It also describes the key role that the Champion has in selecting the right projects that will be assigned to the belts to look for the benefits for the company.

This module takes the learner through the Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases of a Lean Six Sigma project. The module introduces the learner to key tools and concepts that should be used in each of these phases. Understanding these tools and concepts are critical to help the Champion effectively question and guide the project leaders. Tools and concepts covered include Process Mapping, Cause & Effect, Basic Statistics, Measurement Systems Analysis, Graphical Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments, Project Transition Action Plans, Control Plans, Mistake Proofing and Statistical Process Control.

Without a solid foundation and supporting structure, any Lean Six Sigma deployment faces a very unstable future. Building that foundation and supporting structure is critical to the long term success of your deployment. This module takes the learner through the critical areas that need to be addressed to ensure that this foundation and supporting structure are in place and understood by everyone in the organization. Topics covered include key deployment steps, initializing your deployment, selecting the tool to document your supporting structure, and the basic requirements for areas such as finance, human resources, IT, communications, project management and training and support.

In order to be successful, projects must be properly scoped to the right level of complexity before being handed over to a Lean Six Sigma team. This course explains the metrics necessary to create well-defined projects that are not too large and not too small.

In order for projects, and your deployment, to be successful for the long run the projects must be turned over from the project leader to the people that own and run the process. Doing so ensures the critical buy-in of the people directly impacted by the changes the project has brought about. This module takes the learner through the essential elements for that successful turnover. The elements covered include control plans, project transition action plans, process failure modes and affects analysis (FMEA), error proofing, documenting and the financial validation. The module concludes with an example from a real project turnover.
